Linda Ohlson resides in Corvallis. Born in Ohio, her father was in the Air Force. She has lived in many locations in the United States, and as a child, she also lived in the Azores. She went to college at the University of West Florida in Pensacola where she received a BS in Management and an MBA. She met her husband a Naval Aviator in Pensacola and lived in Japan for a year. Prior to moving to Oregon, she also lived in North Carolina and California.
A lifelong artist, mostly self taught, Linda studied under an expert jeweler learning various techniques of gold and silversmithing. Additionally she took classes in lapidary and fused glass. She started her jewelry business, O Jewelry, twelve years ago.
Her grandmother taught her to knit and crochet when she was a child. Most recently he textile arts have again inspired her and nuno felting is a new direction where her creativity can be seen, as well as in her paintings.
For over 10 years and until recently, Linda was a member of the Central California Arts Association at Mistlin Gallery. In this volunteer organization, she held many posts, including show committee member, docent and docent trainer/coordinator, and most recently co-chair of the Gift Shop.
In addition to selling her jewelry at Mistlin Gallery, she previously had jewelry at The Little Shop, Queen Mab's, ad the Chartreuse Muse, all located in Modesto, California. Fairs and festivals were also outlets for her jewelry, and she has made many custom pieces for her clients.
She makes one-of-a-kind jewelry. Primarily art glass jewelry, in the form of earrings, pins, pendants, rings and bracelets. These pieces are kiln formed and have silver, gold and copper accents. She uses dichroic, iridized, opalescent, cathedral, and mardi gras glass. Linda prides herself in creating quality jewelry for you to enjoy.
