I have been drawing and painting ever since I was a small child. I was fortunate to have an artistic mother who fostered my joy in painting, as well as photography.
I have used many different artistic mediums but as time went on I pursued photography first. Since the advent of Digital Photography and all the Apps that allow me to creatively change my images, I have been able to really delve into the artistry involved, and consider myself a Fine Art Photographer.
And then came Alcohol Ink Painting. I am in my element here. Alcohol Inks, by their very nature, are very fluid, transparent, vibrant and interactive, especially when used on nonabsorbent surfaces such as ceramic tile, yupo paper, and duralar. It has allowed me to break away from realism because each time I start a painting the inks start interacting, the alcohol starts drying, and there is no time to be wasted! My creation is a dance between the inks and myself. It is a magical and transformational experience.
