"Colored Pencil PhotoFusion" uses a multi-layered technique combining the best of digital photography with traditional colored pencil painting.  The technique maintains a photographic realism while allowing the "hand of the artist" to shine.  I combine, adjust, and manipulate the digital originals to achieve promising base images, which are then printed on archival artists’ paper.  I use lightfast colored
pencils in translucent
layers to create color harmonies, depth and textures, pushing the images in ways that often create romanticized realities, and recapture the feelings of a scene that may be lost to the camera “eye".

“ Capella” art are layered mixed media pieces, painted with watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, markers, wax crayons and pastels. They are playful explorations of media, color and textures usually created with musical accompaniment.  They often feature flowers, landscapes, or critters.
Featured Guest Artist for May 2023:

"Colored Pencil PhotoFusion"
Like many other artists through the ages, I delight in the variety, color, delicacy, and symbolism of flowers.
My art is an attempt to explore the beauty, vibrance, and fragility of my world. In my work, as well as in my life, I look for the colors in reflections, shadows and edges, where so often excitement, interest, pain and beauty are amplified. I seek to show tiny details and connections easily missed in the world around us, and strive to communicate the depth of reality.
